Paperwork and Flights

So I really don't have much more to do. I only have two bits of paperwork left. I can't fill one out until my passport comes in and I have a meeting scheduled tomorrow with my adviser.

At the moment I'm looking for flights. I found one for about $950 taxes and all. Not bad, I think.  Still going to shop around a bit though. I'd like to save as much money as possible.

A cool thing- it seems like since this is a flight with two stops, I get to spend a small amount of time in Amsterdam, Netherlands. I may only have about two hours there (depends on the flight I choose), so I don't think I'll be straying very far from the airport, but at the very least I'll have a small meal while there.

I'm a terrible blog writer, aren't I? I swear this will get vastly more interesting once this semester ends and I am done with all this dull paperwork.

Update:

My mom just called me and told me she was emailed a discount that's going to make my flight to and from England super cheap! Which is awesome! Don't know how much yet though, but it's sure to be brilliant.

How this all came about...

I only decided two Tuesdays ago that I would be going to England in January. I had a meeting with the director of Study Abroad with the intention of planning my trip to England in the summer. After some discussion, she had me convinced that it would be much better for me to go in the Spring instead (cheaper, longer, more credits).

The only downside is that I now have a mere 2 & 1/2 months to get everything done. This means getting a passport, buying plane tickets, applying to the foreign school, finding funds, filling the various and extensive required paperwork, and generally preparing myself and my things. Oh, and I had to tell my boss that I wouldn't be working for her anymore come the end of the semester. It wasn't terrible. She didn't fire me, anyway.

I applied for the passport today, but its going to take 4-6 weeks to get here! Egad! For now I'm going to do as much paperwork as possible and tonight I'll start seeing what kind of deals I can get for flights. Wish me luck!

Welcome to the Blog

Hello General Public! Welcome to my adventure.

As this is my first blog I ask that you please bear with me as I figure out all the complexities.

Well, I started this blog on the suggestion of a friend. I'm going to England in 79 days to continue my education and my friend thought that it'd be cool if I documented and shared my time there. And here we are. As I'm obviously not there yet, I thought I'd start by just telling you how the process is going and about my life in general.

But not yet. Because right now, I'm late for one of the first steps: getting my passport. I'll let you know how it goes.

See you soon.
